NTI/NTARC 2024 update- sharpens Wheel- end fire warning
LSM’s earlier coverage of NTI / NTARC reporting (see link) showed wheel- end / tyre fires were already a persistent risk: the 2020 findings said more than one- third of truck fire losses were linked to tyre or wheel- end failure or fault and later updates said tyres were the source in 46.5% of wheel-end fires, ahead of bearings at 25% and brakes at 14.3%.
