Orlaco Cameras face the hardest rally in the world: the DAKAR Rally
Orlaco Cameras face the hardest rally in the world: the Dakar.
Just as in previous years, Orlaco cameras will provide extra pairs of eyes during the hardest rally in the world; the 32nd running of the DAKAR.
Preparations are in full swing as the rally starts on 1 January 2010 in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires.
The Orlaco Cameras first encountered the extreme conditions of the rally more than four years ago. They kept an eye on things for Hans Bekx's team during the spectacular race, and this seemed to be a huge success.
The rear view camera was used to monitor "the competition", which led to it being dubbed the "anti-overtaking camera". A camera was also placed on the shock absorber to monitor the power train.
Since then the Orlaco Cameras have proved their added value during successive rallies. Years later, our robust cameras are now seen more and more often in use on DAKAR trucks, including for the teams from Autotrack, Ginaf Rally Service, Ginaf Rally Power and Afraja in 2010.
Orlaco is proud of this development; it enables us to show the world that our camera/monitor systems can operate under the most extreme conditions.
We hope that all the participants in DAKAR 2010 have an amazing race and we look forward to riding (watching) along with them — but from behind the monitor!
